Landscape Yard Customer Service and Operations

This role begins with a strong focus on hands-on yard operations and customer service. A nice balance between office and physical outdoors mahi.

Opportunities to progress into wider responsibilities such as sales growth, marketing support, stock procurement, and account management.

Stage 1: Core Yard & Customer Operations (Foundation)

The first priority of the role is to ensure the yard operates safely, efficiently, and professionally every day.

  • Open and close the yard and till (7 - 5pm Weekdays, 9-1 pm Saturdays)

  • Warm up, operate, and shut down machinery correctly

  • Load customer vehicles and delivery trucks

  • Bag, mix, screen, and handle products as required

  • Carry out deliveries when required

  • Care for equipment

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organized yard at all times

  • Ensure all stock and product displays are clean and presentable

  • Serve retail and trade customers in person and over the phone

  • Manage inbound customer enquiries and record all enquiry details accurately

  • Follow enquiries through to completion or sale

Growth Opportunity: Customer Relationships, Sales & Commercial Support (Growth)

Once operational competency is demonstrated, the role can expand, taking on more sales and client relationships.

  • Build and maintain long-term client and trade relationships

  • Identify customer needs and provide solution-based recommendations

  • Actively look for upsell and cross-sell opportunities

  • Assist with sales follow-ups and account management

  • Support marketing initiatives and in-yard promotions

  • Assist with stock forecasting, ordering, and supplier coordination

  • Contribute to improving systems, systems discipline, and customer experience

Licences & Competency Requirements

Applicants ideally must hold, or be willing to obtain (with our support);

  • Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsement

  • Class 2 Driver Licence

  • Dangerous Goods endorsement

  • Forklift licence

IMPORTANT: Customer service, sales, or marketing experience with competent computer | tech ability with Squarespace website, Vend, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc would hugely benefit you.

Hours of Work

This role requires reliability and ownership; being on site, on time, and prepared to run the yard each day is critical. However, there is a wider team to support you if you need to head out during the day, as well as deliveries and out-and-about jobs to break up the retail customer service.

Hours of work 0630 - 1700 each weekday; however, if you prefer to run Saturday and take a weekday off instead, that would be helpful for us.
